Winter went at Autumn’s door
surrounded by a crowd of owls,
wind above the floor.
Next to the fire they had a cup of pumpkin soup.
For a while they talked about fireflies
which Winter never saw,
about the mechanics of their winds,
about snowdrop’s growth.
It was the beginning of October,
seven hundred ages ago.

throw the snow above the mountains
and send the warmth back to his home”
